Weekend Recap...

Hey rbcstudents! So obviously this post is a little different than our usual Sunday recap posts... Why? Because this past weekend was DNOW! We hope all of you had a blast at DNOW, and for those of you who didn't come, what were you thinking?? It was awesome! If you couldn't make it to DNOW2013... plan on coming to DNOW2014... it will probably be even better! We spent the weekend enjoying worship with Nate Jones and his band, being thoroughly entertained by Hannibal LaGrange's The New Edition, and hearing from our amazing speaker Josh Pease.
We (the rbcstudents staff) had an amazing weekend with all of you! From relays and rock climbing to worshiping with all of you... everything was wonderful! We hope all of you enjoyed your weekend as much as we did... Don't forget to continue what you started at DNOW.  Take what you learned to heart and remember to keep studying your DNOW Devotion books... We want the "amazingness" we saw at DNOW to keep going...

Let us know what you thought of DNOW! We'd love your feedback... Email Kate Ford at Kate@ridgecrestbaptist.org

SMALL GROUPS: Sunday, March 3rd

Yesterday was such a wonderful day for us here at rbcstudents! We got to study God's Word with all of you in the morning... and even give away some DNOW discounts in the 9:00 & 10:30 intros! THEN... we got to play some Laser Tag with all of you... could you ask for a better day? Us either! To recap what we talked about in the morning... we spent time in Luke, chapter 3.  We talked about the start of Jesus' ministry, and how He spent 40 days fasting in the desert.  How many of you could go that long without eating or drinking? If someone offered you something to eat or drink at the end of that, would you be tempted to take it... even if you knew it was wrong? That's exactly how Satan tempted Jesus in the desert... Jesus was weak and hungry, and Satan tempted Him with what He needed most.  That's how the enemy works.  He hits us at our weakest, most vulnerable place... and he uses what we need most to tempt us.  We discussed this in depth yesterday in our small groups.  We also talked about repentance, and while we as believers, though saved, still need to live a life of ongoing repentance.  Thank you for letting us study God's Word with all of you! Have a great week rbcstudents.
